SKI PODIATRIST JOB

Job Overview

We are looking for snow sports-loving podiatrists to join our team in our on-snow boot fitting clinic at Mount Buller for the 2024 winter. You don’t need to have boot fitting experience yet as long as you’re willing to let us teach you.

You’ll enjoy working closely with our team and being supported by our lead podiatrist and boot fitter as you learn and develop your ski and snowboard boot management for elite athletes, snow sports instructors, locals and visitors. We provide boot solutions for people who have very difficult feet to fit into ski boots which provides daily challenges and can be very professionally rewarding.

There are two roles available in our clinics and both are full-time for the winter season (opening weekend to closing weekend), but will provide plenty of ski time, a discounted season pass and assistance with accommodation.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive ski podiatry assessments and treatments to clients

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the local multidisciplinary professionals, snow sports school and athletes.

  • Keep excellent documentation and clinical notes using our online system

  • Manufacture custom ski orthotic devices specific for: ski boots, touring boots, snowboard boots and cross-country ski boots.

  • Learn and apply new skills in boot modifications.

  • Engage with clients to resolve boot related issues.

Skills and Experience

We are seeking people who have:

  • Tertiary qualification in podiatry and AHPRA registration, and relevant professional indemnity insurance

  • Current Working with Children Check and Police Check.

  • Experience with ski boot fitting is desired but not essential for a podiatrist, but a passion for snow sports is a must. We will provide specific training and support on the job.

  • Must be eager to learn, be open to doing things differently and be a positively contributing team member

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job benefits and perks

  • Live in a ski resort and get to ski or board nearly every day.

  • Work in a fast-paced and high energy environment

  • Enjoy working with a fantastic group of people stoked on snow sports

  • Assistance with seasonal accommodation and access to discounted season pass.

  • As an employee you will have access to discounts across the mountain
